What better way to make money than by doing it online, on your time, and in your home. A lot of people would just love to work at home but don’t really know how and where to start. Add to that, the horror stories people hear about people getting duped by some shady group or person promising easy riches, but instead end up being robbed. Here’s a primer on 5 methods to look into that can get you started in making an income online.

Surveys: Companies are willing to pay you real money in exchange for your opinion. This is the logic behind paid online surveys. Many have looked at paid online surveys with suspicion, and that’s reasonable. But there are legitimate online surveys. You know you have a legit paid survey site if they don’t ask for a fee or payment of any kind and don’t promise too-good-to-be-true rewards for just completing surveys. Real surveys usually last anywhere between 20 minutes to a whole hour and usual pay $1 – $10 for completion. Although it may not seem like much upfront, it does accumulate into a nice side income. I myself have cashed a $50 check my first month of doing surveys.

Work-From-Home: The internet has made the communication of employer and worker so easy, you don’t even have to “go” to work anymore! When people hear work-from-home, they usually thing data entry, but it’s more than that. If you have skills and experience, you can find telecommute work, both freelance and permanent, in customer service, programming, design, translation, medical billing, telemarketing, copywriting, tutoring, and data entry. Many people are drawn to the idea of earning a living form home, but not everyone can do it. Legit work from home employers want what every brick and mortar employer wants: skills and experience. So make no mistake, when you work from home, you WORK form home.

Selling Online: Chances are you or someone you know has already tried this. eBay and Craigslist are two of the most popular sites people go to sell their stuff and make a quick buck. Antiques, rare items, and electronics are the best sellers, although I’m sure you can find someone who will by your old toaster or jeans.

If you’re interested in setting up you’re own store online, you could look into drop shipping, which is sort of like a company where you sell other peoples products and they take care of shipping, handling. With drop shipping, you don’t need to buy any inventory and keep the profits made from a sale.

PPC Ads: If you have a blog or website, you might want to look into having pay-per-click ads (like Google AdSense) on your site. In fact, when people talk about making money through blogging, 80% of the time they’re talking about pay-per-click. The way pay-per-click works is you allow an ad to be placed on your site and for every time some clicks on that ad, you get paid for it. You’ve probably seen these type of ads during a web search.

Affiliate Marketing: Another viable option is to start selling other peoples products for a commission. Known as affiliate marketing, you basically look for a product and sell that product using your own special URL link and get paid a commission every time some buys from through your link. You can market these products by using Craigslist to writing articles (a.k.a article marketing).

Speaking about article marketing, there is a guide which will show you how to make $150 a day you can get for FREE when you sign up here. To learn more about what you read here, including legit survey sites and a great work from home resource, check out this money making blog.
